August Wine Down Wednesday
We are back for Wine Down Wednesday and I am currently in morning. Now that September 1st has rolled around, all I am seeing are PSL's, fall candles and people talking about putting their pumpkins and mums out.
It’s still 92 degrees out people! I can’t with that. No thanks!
You won’t see me talking about that around here, so instead let’s catch up on all things August and summer. 🙂
Family Vacation

We started out the month with a very special family trip with my husband and in-laws that has been planned for quite some time. We took a Mediterranean cruise and it was a literal dream!
I feel like all I have done is talk about it all month but I am not even sorry about it. If you ever have the chance to go you HAVE to!
We left out of Venice, Italy (in which I left a piece of my heart there and CANNOT wait to go back someday) and visited down the Greek Isles. Kotor, Corfu, Athens, Katakolon and Argosotoli to be exact.
Our days were full of perfect weather, the most incredible food, walking about 10 miles a day, seeing the most clear unreal blue ocean water and memories we will never forget. Each day was so different and special - but Venice and Athens were my favs.
Oh, and don’t you worry. I have a post dedicated to all the food I ate while we were there - because would I be a real food blogger if not? I think not! I gave you a little sneak peak this week on a recipe I have been able to recreate since we have been home - an Authentic Greek Frappe.
Justin and I are counting down the days until we can make a trip back. If you ever get the chance to go - DO IT!
Family Birthdays
We are in birthday season around here. From August - February, everyone from mine and Justin’s family birthdays are packed in!
It is also a big year for my family - we celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary this summer, my brother joined the 30 club, my beautiful mom turns 60 next month and their business, Price Dinner Club, celebrates its 10 year anniversary along with my sister getting married. It’s full of so many special and monumental occasions!
We decided to celebrate my brothers 30th, dad and sister's birthday all together at a very special dinner at Jeff Ruby’s Lexington. We ate and celebrated for 4 hours and we closed the place down. This place is a must if you’re in Lexington and have a special occasion to celebrate! Some of the best food I have ever had in my life and service that is second to none.
It’s always special when we can all get together, relax and enjoy time together, and this time was no different.
Lake Weekend RIP Summer
We closed out this packed and special month with a trip to the lake to celebrate Labor Day. I guess technically it’s the “semi-official” end to summer but I refuse to listen to that. The sun and warmth has a good 2 months left and I am hanging on to everyday of tank top, flip flop, watermelon and grilling out days as I can!
Hope August was a wonderful one for you too. We have lots of stuff planned and geared up for the last part of the year and I am so excited about it!
