Grab a glass of wine and lets catch up on all the things in September!
Oh man. September. You were EPIC! Filled with so many fun things that I have been looking forward to!
First "Influencer"Event with Beef. What's For Dinner.
And when I say “influencer” I mean that one, I hate that word and two, I DO NOT think I am one. But that is what the event was called so we are going with it.
Local Chef, Joshua Moore, (he is the Executive Chef and Owner of Volare restaurant in Louisville) hosted us out at his farm for a night full of incredible food and a menu inspired by beef. I am drooling still thinking about it.
It was so fun to get to spend time with people I hadn’t seen in a while (um hello Carrian!) and meet some new friends. I had a blast and left with a full and happy belly. 🙂
This is pretty much the highlight not only of my month but YEAR! I can literally talk about this night forever so I will try and keep it short.
IT. WAS. EVERYTHING!!
I had bought these tickets over a year ago and have been counting down the days ever since. Let me tell you what. It lived up to every expectation I had and then some!
The Backstreet Boys concert in 2000 at Rupp Arena was the very first concert I went to. It was the coolest to now go with friends I have known since then.
My 12 years old self was bursting at the seams!
They sang ALL their hits, dressed in the same outfits, had the same smooth moves and woo’ed me just as I expected. I proudly lost my voice that night and have been reliving it ever since.
I am not sorry or ashamed.
I want to go again. Like real bad! 🙂
We ended the month with a trip down to one of our most favorite places in the world - Hilton Head Island.
A couple of years ago, Justin and I made a goal to get away just the 2 of us every quarter. Usually, they fall on long weekends or around work trips we extend out. But there is something to be said for taking a week away just the two of us.
It was the refreshing break we both needed and we were so sad to leave. We really did a whole lot of nothing which was the goal. I still had to get my training runs in while away, so we knocked out a 15 miler the first day. We played tennis and golf. Went to the pool. Rode bikes. Slept. Ate all the good food and of course went to the beach.
I barely had my phone out and hardly got any pictures. But that’s what I wanted to do and I am not sorry about stepping back and being with my most favorite person on the planet one bit.
I highly recommend getting away with your spouse as much and as often as you can. The time to be able to reconnect, recharge and relax is beyond worth it.
Now I am in a dilemma because our 2020 calendar is currently empty and I am itching to plan trips to look forward to! I have some places I would love to visit next year and I am crossing my fingers they will work out.
Where are some of your most gavotte places to visit?
This just feels important to share. Every month. So here is a cute picture of Rex's post haircut. Just because. You’re welcome 🙂
