Description

Quick and Easy Garden Fresh Salsa is simple and delicious bursting with all of the summer flavors! Ditch the store-bought bottles and be surprised at how quick and easy it is to make your own!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 Cup Cilantro (1 small bunch)
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1/2 Red Onion
  • 1-2 Jalapeños ** (seeds removed)
  • 6-8 Roma Tomatoes - quatered and seeds removed
  • 1 Chiptole Pepper**
  • Juice of 1/2 Lime
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
  • Pinch of Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Sugar


Instructions

  1. In a food processor add in cilantro, garlic, onion, and jalapeno.
  2. Pulse to roughly chop together.
  3. Add in quatered and seeds removed roma tomatoes. By removing the seeds of the tomato, it helps keep down the water/juice content in salsa.
  4. Add in the rest of the ingredients along with the tomatoes - chiptole, lime juices and spices.
  5. Pulse until all blended together and to desidred chunkiness.
  6. Pour in 2 - 12 ounce mason jars. Seal and store in fridge until ready to enjoy!

Notes

  • Note: depending on the spice level you like is how many jalapenos and chipotle peppers you should add. If you like your salsa with a kick - add in 2 jalapenos and 1 chipotle pepper. For a milder flavor just add 1 jalapeno and 1 chipotle. If you are not a fan of spice, remove the chipotle all together and just add 1 small jalapeno.
