Description

Is there anything better than homemade creamed corn? I don’t think so! This Southern-style dish features canned sweet corn mixed with all the good stuff: cream, melted butter, sugar, grated parmesan cheese, plus a hint of nutmeg. Cooked on the stovetop, the result is a ridiculously creamy and comforting side dish perfect for serving during the holidays or with Sunday supper.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 - 14.5 Ounce Cans of Sweet Corn
  • 1 Cup Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Drain the cans of corn
  2. In a large pot add all of the ingredients and place on the stove on medium heat. Bring up to a simmer/low boil.
  3. Once at a simmer, cover and turn to medium-low. Cook for 30 minutes until the liquid has thickened.
  4. Serve hot with freshly cracked black pepper and enjoy!
