Description

A beloved easy southern appetizer staple, pigs in a blanket made with little smokies and puff pastry is always a hit! Made with just 4 ingredients, these are the perfect bite-size appetizer to serve at any party!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Sheet Puff Pastry - thawed
  • 1 - 14 Ounce Package Little Smokies
  • 1 Egg + 1 Teaspoon Water
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce

Instructions

*Before starting the recipe - place puff pastry in the fridge 24 hours before baking to thaw!*

  1. Preheat oven. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Prep dough. Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry and roll it out to a larger rectangle about 10 x 14" in size (does not have to be exact). Cut into smaller rectangles about 1 x 3" in size - again a rough estimate. You can take a Little Smokie and measure the width of the dough (about 1") and then enough length to wrap it completely around (about 3"), slice and cut from there. These are just guideline measurements to help you. Wrap each smaller rectangle around each Little Smokie, gently pressing the dough on the underside to seal. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and repeat with the rest of the Smokies.
  3. Egg wash. Whisk together the egg and water in a bowl. Gently brush the tops of each smokie with the egg wash and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  4. Bake. Place in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top and bottom.
  5. Serve. Remove from the oven and place on a platter. Serve with honey mustard or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This recipe is easily doubled for a larger party or crowd. Pepperidge Farm Puff pastry comes with 2 sheets. Use with 2 smaller packages or 1 large one of little smokies to double the recipe.
  • Keep leftovers stored airtight in the fridge for up to 2 days.
