Honey mustard sauce is a quick and easy condiment we are never without. Made with 4 pantry staple ingredients, and in just 2 minutes, you will never go back to the store-bought version ever again!

I cannot live with honey mustard. Like truly. It is always in a mason jar in our fridge. I need it on hand always for when we have any kind of chicken for dinner like Cornflake Tenders or to top on burgers and even dip any oven fries in. If I am out at a restaurant, I always ask for honey mustard for my dipping sauce. It is just something I have always loved and cannot live without.

4 Ingredient Honey Mustard Sauce in a small clear jar on a white plate with a spoon in it.

And you know what? IT IS SO EASY TO MAKE! My mom always made it growing up and now I do as well. Justin even knows how to whisk it together when we are out because it is that easy.

Just 4 staple pantry ingredients and in less than 3 minutes you have yourself the best dipping sauce in all the land! It is 1000x better than any storebought version - so skip all the added junk and preservatives, and make your own at home!

    Ingredients Needed

    • Mayonnaise - I love making my own mayonnaise, but if I buy store bought it is always Duke's mayo. Use your favorite brand - it doesn't matter - just do not use Miracle Whip or salad dressing. You want the real deal mayo for this.
    • Yellow Mustard - just plain ole regular yellow mustard - nothing fancy.
    • Honey - I prefer to use high-quality local honey. We always have local honey on hand - it tastes so much better. This will yield the best flavor in my opinion for the recipe, but any honey brand will work just fine.
    • Cayenne Pepper
Mayo, mustard, honey, and cayenne pepper on a white table.

    How to Make

    1. In a medium size bowl or in a mason jar, add all of the ingredients.
    2. Whisk together until smooth and everything is thoroughly combined.
    3. Place in a mason jar with a lid and store in the fridge. Use as desired and needed.

I always store this sauce in mason jars*. I usually use ½ pint jars which is the perfect size for this amount.

mayo, mustard, honey, and cayenne in a mixing bowl with spatula inside.
Add honey, mayo, mustard, and cayenne to a bowl.
Stirring together honey mustard in a clear bowl.
Mix together until all creamy and combined.

What to Use Honey Mustard Sauce On

Chicken, chicken, and more chicken! Fried chicken, chicken nuggets, baked chicken, grilled chicken, sous vide chicken ... you get the drift haha.

Also, LOVE using this to dip fries in - sweet potato and regular and to put on our burgers in the summer. My mouth is watering thinking about all of this!
