Y'all, we all love an effortless dinner! This maple dijon salmon is as easy as it is elegant; perfect for a busy weeknight family dinner or elevated enough for a dinner party with friends. Just brush your fillets with a mix of Dijon mustard, maple syrup, and a few pantry spices, then bake at 375° for 20 minutes until it's flaky and tender. Pair it with rice and a simple veggie, and supper's on the table for four in no time. This is a Fueling a Southern Soul reader favorite for good reason!

I get tired of our weeknight dinner rotations very easily. Even though I am a "food blogger" and Southern cook, I get stuck making the same things and get SO TIRED of them. Plus, having our first baby really threw me for a loop in all areas, and dinner time/meal planning was a big one too.
Any time I absolutely do not want to be forced to eat chicken AGAIN - an easy salmon dish is my go-to to switch things up. Baked salmon sushi bowls is one of our favs for a quick dinner, but this maple dijon salmon seriously is so freaking easy that anyone can do it.
This is perfect for those weeknight quick dinners, but also easy enough to double or triple the recipe to serve to friends and family who are coming over for dinner!

"Tasty and easy! I sprinkled plain panko crumbs on top for a little crunch."
- Chris

⭐️ PRO TIP ⭐️ - after being lazy one too many times while making this, save yourself the trouble and spray your baking sheet that is lined with foil with either cooking spray or olive oil so the salmon doesn't stick - especially if you have skin-on salmon. I have skipped this step one too many times and always get so aggravated with myself after when I am trying to scrape it off lol.

PS - Justin and I love to eat this cold, flaked-over rice for lunches throughout the week too! It is so yummy!

Oh, I love the panko crunch on top!! I am going to have to do that next time - thanks for making and letting me know Chris!
Kathryn says
Did you put the panko on before baking or after it was done? Thanks!
Heather Bilyeu says
Hi Kathryn - there isn't any panko called for in this recipe. But my Salmon Sushi Bowls have some in it and it is added at the end for a crunch!
Denise says
Thank you for sharing this recipe! It is my go to salmon recipe and is perfect as is. If I were to add a crunchy topping, I would stick with the Omega 3 theme and go with ground, roasted Walnuts, Cashews, or Almonds. What I love about this recipe besides the flavor is how versatile your sides can be.
Heather Bilyeu says
Thank you so much Denise for your kind comment! I am so glad you have enjoyed this - we love it too!
Patti says
Very good. The topping was so flavorful. I didn't have green onions and forgot the sesame seeds, but didn't miss them at all ( will try harder to remember next time). I did turn the broiler on for the last couple of minutes because the topping didn't seem done. I will definitely make this again; we are lucky to get fresh salmon from a fisherman who loves to fish but doesn't like to eat salmon! Thanks for a quick and easy and tasty recipe!
