Raise your hand if you love breakfast recipes all day every day!

Yes! I see you breakfast fanatics! The lovers of pancakes and eggs for dinner. The person so knows there is no better time for a bowl of cereal than late at night. All of us breakfast for dinner actually any time of day lovers unite!

I tend to be more of a savory breakfast kinda of girlie, but there are times were I just need something on the sweeter side. Like make-ahead sourdough french toast casserole or gooey monkey bread muffins or oh my gosh, pumpkin cinnamon rolls! I have been craving those so badly recently!

But there is a world where both savory and sweet can exist and it is my favorite! Whole wheat french toast isn't overly sweet on its own, but drizzle a little maple syrup on top and it's the perfect balance of both worlds!

This Ezekiel bread french toast breakfast can be made in under 20 minutes. Yes, you heard me right. Unlike cinnamon rolls that take a bit of thought and planning, this takes no time at all and can be whipped up with the craving hits. Just whisk together some milk, eggs, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Dunk the bread in on both sides then pan fry with some butter until it's nice and crispy on the outside. Serve immediately warm with some fresh berries and maple syrup. It is so very good!

Key Ingredient Notes

  • Sprouted Bread or Ezekiel Bread - you can find this bread at most grocery stores and it's usually in the freezer breakfast section. Trader Joe's has a brand (that is not frozen) that I like, but get whatever brand you prefer.
  • Whole Milk - after testing this recipe, I found whole milk works best for flavor. However, others can be used like low-fat milk, cream, half and half. I would not recommend using skim milk for this recipe.
