There is nothing more patriotic than a red, white, and blue dessert. This fruit pizza will be a crowd favorite for all your 4th of July and patriotic summer celebrations.

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and days of the whole year!

I love a good patriotic celebration. Stars and stripes swimsuits and all of the most American BBQ food your heart could desire!

Pair that with a day off in the sun surrounded by friends and family (preferably on the water if possible) and I am in heaven! End the day with a glass of wine on the porch while the sun sets, a bonfire going and a slice of red white, and blue fruit pizza and I am the world's happiest person!

Fruit pizza is one of my favs in the summer.

It is often forgotten about but it's so easy and there are a million different ways to be creative with it!

Today we are taking inspiration from the star-spangled banner and turning this dessert into an American favorite. Don't let this fool you though. It is as simple as a sugar cookie crust, cream cheese frosting, and all the red, white and blue fruits!

All of these elements can be made ahead of time leaving you stress-free on the 4th of July.

    4. Serve immediately.
    5. If not serving right away, place in refrigerator until ready.
    6. Leftovers can be kept for 2-3 days stored in the refrigerator wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.

You won't be disappointed with how great this taste or how easy this is to throw together! Don't spend hours slaving over food and cooking on this holiday.

    • 1-2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
    • Pinch of Salt

    Toppings

    • Blueberries
    • Strawberries
    • Raspberries

    Instructions

    Sugar Cookie Crust

    1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Cream together butter and sugar either with a large stand mixer or a hand mixer.
    3. Add in egg and vanilla and mix till combined.

    Cream Cheese Frosting

    1. In a stand mixer or with a hand-held mixer, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter. Mix for 2-3 minutes making sure all lumps are out and it is nice and smooth.
    2. Slowly add powdered sugar a ½ cup at a time. Scrape down sides with a spatula in between each addition. Add lemon juice and salt at the end and mix well.

    6. Leftovers can be kept for 2-3 days stored in the refrigerator wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
    7. Enjoy!

    Notes

    1. Use any amount of fruit for the topping that you would like. You can cover the whole pizza, make a fun American flag pattern or make the cookie into a traditional pizza shape and decorate it that way. I did not include a specific berry amount for that reason. Let your creativity run wild!
    2. For a different twist, make cookie dough into the traditional sugar cookies. Once the dough is made, place it onto parchment paper and shape it into a long log. Wrap parchment paper around and twist the ends and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight. Once ready to make, treat dough as slices and bake cookies. Arrange onto a lined baking sheet and bake at 375 for 10-11 minutes. Let cool completely and then decorate as desired for fun individual fruit pizzas!
