Y'all - week 4 of the summer cold dip series, and we are coming in with what might be the most fun of the sweet dips - a play on Dunkaroos!
If you grew up as a kid in the '90's like me, you knew what a SPECIAL treat it was to open up your lunch box and see the baby blue container of cookies to be dipped in frosting. It was going to be a GREAT DAY when that happened. 😜
Dunkaroos are such a fun and nostalgic memory for me; I had to include my version of it in this series. And let me just tell ya - my toddler is a big fan too. Let me show you how to make this.
⭐️ Before you start - pro tip ⭐️ make sure you ste your cream cheese AND butter out on the counter to softened for at least 30 minutes before you begin. This will make it WAY easier to mix together and make really smooth and creamy. Have I not done this and mixed cold? Yes. Have I not done this and stuck them both in the mircrowave and melted slightly? Yes. Do these things still work and taste the same? Yes. But you will never get the smooth no lump texture that room temp butter and cream cheese will give you. Trust me, I know from too many lazy times 😉

⭐️ Don't skip on beating for at least a minute or 2 here at the end. This is the key and secret to getting the consistency super light and fluffy.

Description
If you grew up dunking little crackers into little containers of Funfetti frosting, this play on Dunkaroo dip is about to bring back all the childhood memories! Made with just 7 ingredients, including cream cheese, butter, and cream. Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese - softened
- ½ cup butter - softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 ounce round confetti sprinkles
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and butter. Using a hand mixer, beat for 60 seconds, until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla bean paste, and salt. Beat for 2 to 3 minutes - it will become light and fluffy. Mixing for this time is key to getting the frosting the right fluffy consistency.
- Fold in the sprinkles using a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and serve immediately with animal crackers, or Teddy Grahams - or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- Keep leftovers stored airtight in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- This can be made a day in advance - just stir in the sprinkles right before serving to prevent the colours from bleeding into the dip.
