Y'all, this bourbon praline sauce is a decadent treat that comes together on the stovetop in just 10 minutes. It's a rich caramel base made from butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream with pecans and Kentucky bourbon stirred in. It’s perfect as a dip poured over cream cheese or drizzled over your favorite desserts, like cheesecake, apple pie, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Recipe yields 8 ounces.

    Y'all......this praline dip!

Oh my. Y'all. This sauce - it's everything! So rich and decadent that it almost should be illegal.

What happens when you combine a simple caramel sauce, toasty pecans, and Kentucky Bourbon?!

    Magic! Magic is what happens.

I wanted a sweet sauce to make a simple dip for the holidays this year - something like FSS crowd favorites 10-Minute Cranberry-Jalapeños Cream Cheese Dip or 10 Minute Peppermint Candy Cane Dip - but much more elevated and rich. And a real Kentucky twist on it because this Southern cook couldn't help herself.

It all starts with butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream on the stove. Bring to a low boil over medium heat and cook for 3 minutes. Then remove and stir in pecans, bourbon, nutmeg, a pinch of salt, and some vanilla bean paste. This all comes together in 10 minutes and is so simple.

Let it cool slightly before you serve it over cream cheese or drizzle it on top of apple pie, cheesecake, or vanilla ice cream in the summer. I even ate it off the spoon while recipe testing and had to go back in for seconds because it was so good. Let me show you how easy this is!

Welcome to my kitchen - let's whip this up together!

butter, brown sugar and heavy cream in a pot on the stove.
Add your butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream to a medium-sized pot on the stove.
Mixing together caramel on the stove.
Turn to medium and bring to a low boil while whisking.

Let cook at this low boil for 3 minutes, then remove from the heat. Whish every 30 seconds or so.
Chopping pecans on a cutting board.
While the caramel is cooking, roughly chop up your pecans.

Remove the caramel from the stove. Add in the vanilla bean paste, bourbon, a pinch of salt, and nutmeg.
Stirring in pecans to caramel sauce.
Then add in the chopped pecans.

    And whisk it all together.

⭐️ I always use vanilla bean paste when baking because I think it gives a MUCH better flavor. Plus I love the speaks of vanilla in it! I linked the one I use. If you don't have this on hand you can sub for regular pure vanilla extract. (afflilate links)

Pour it into a mason jar and let cool slightly before using.

I tested different ways of storing this since 8 ounces of praline sauce is well....a lot haha. If you don't use it all at once, place the lid on the mason jar and store it in the fridge for 2 weeks. Remove and warm gently in the microwave in 30-second intervals stirring between each until warm again.
